  • The Short Story: With a PSAC Tournament berth on the line, Edinboro could well have won the first two sets. As it was, Gannon would rally for wins in both, 25-23 and 26-24, then held off the Fighting Scots in the third set by a score of 25-21. The match featured 33 ties and 11 lead changes. Neither team held more than a four point lead the entire night. The Fighting Scots would have clinched the final spot in the PSAC Tournament with an upset of the Lady Knights, the Northwest Division leader. They can still do so with a win tomorrow night at Slippery Rock, or if Mercyhurst loses one of its final two matches. The night actually belonged to Abigail Horner and Molly Breier. Horner was honored prior to the match as Edinboro's lone senior on Senior Night. She would play in all three sets. Breier, meanwhile, became the 13th Edinboro player with 1,000 digs. She finished with 25 digs to boost her total to 1,017.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
  • Earlier in the year Cierah Jackson went over 1,000 career kills. Another Fighting Scot reached a milestone on Thursday as Molly Breier became the 13th player with 1,000 career digs. She had 14 of her match-high 25 digs in the first set, and now has 1,017 career digs.
  • Cierah Jackson added to her career kills total as the junior outside hitter had 14 kills and a .387 hitting percentage. That gives her 1,095 kills for her career, good for ninth all-time. She has now led Edinboro in kills in 20 of 28 matches.
  • Freshman Bella Burrelli had a solid all-around night with 9 kills, 7 digs, and 4 service aces.
  • Middle hitters Paige Morris and Sally Sterkel had 5 and 4 block assists, respectively.   .
