  • The Short Story: One night after doing Edinboro a bit of a favor with a win over Mercyhurst, Pitt-Johnstown did the Fighting Scots no favor at all. The Fighting Scots won two of the first three sets but the Mountain Cats came roaring back with wins in the fourth and fifth sets to hand Edinboro a 3-2 defeat (17-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-11, 15-8). Edinboro still holds a two-game lead in the loss column over Mercyhurst (7-9) after the Lakers won 3-1 at IUP on Friday night, with Cal and UPJ at 6-9. The Fighting Scots now make the short trek to Indiana(Pa.) looking to move one step closer to a PSAC Tournament berth. Cierah Jackson had a season-high 21 kills to lead the Fighting Scots, with Bella Burrelli adding 11 kills. Molly Breier had 19 digs to boost her career total 972. Jessica Giannoccaro added 14 digs, one off her season high. The Fighting Scots also have the misfourtune of playing both UPJ and IUP on their Senior weekends.
