Young Fighting Scots Squad Falls to Walsh In Spring Opener

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) North Canton, OH. – The Edinboro women's tennis team kicked off the spring portion of their schedule Saturday, as they competed at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. The all-freshman squad fell to 1-5 on the young season with a 7-0 loss to the Cavaliers. Walsh improved to 2-0 with the win.

After Walsh picked up both doubles matches to give them an early 1-0 lead, the single matches saw some tight defeats. At number one singles, Lilly Schmidt lost a tight two-set match 3-6 and 2-6 to Mercedes Fernandez. At number four singles, Anna Zak also lost a tight two-set match with the scores of 3-6 and 0-6. The Fighting Scots are back in action on February 21^st, as they host the University of Charleston.
