Three Fighting Scots pickup singles wins in loss to Kutztown

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) Hilton Head Island, S.C – The Edinboro women's tennis team would suffer a tight loss against Kutztown this morning. Lilly Schmidt, Torye Calleja, and Morgan Bender picked up singles wins for the Fighting Scots. Edinboro fell to Kutztown 3-4 and is now 1-10 in the season while Kutztown is 2-7.

At number one singles, Schmidt dominated Kutztown's Amanda Grebosky with scores of 6-0, 6-0. Calleja defeated Alicia Pursell with scores of 6-2, 6-3. Bender won a close first set with a score of 7-6 and would win the second set 6-3 over Devyn Campbell.

The Fighting Scots would also win the first doubles match and come close to winning the second doubles match. Schmidt and Bender defeated Grebosky and Pursell with a score of 6-3. Anna Zak and Calleja had a close doubles match against Catherine Maher and Claudia Makarski but would fall to a score of 6-4.

Edinboro returns to action on Friday, March 13 facing Albany State University.
