Millersville, Pa. -- The Edinboro football team closes out the 2021 season with a trip to Millersville this Saturday.
Block Party 
The Scots blocked two more kicks on Saturday in their 21-17 victory over IUP. Edinboro has now blocked 10 kicks which leads all of Division II. Three Scots have blocked multiple kicks this season with DeAndre Dowdell, 
Jaohne Duggan and 
Bishop Simmons all blocking two. That ties the three players for fifth in D-II.
Bend Don't Break
The Fighting Scot defense only allowed one touchdown a week ago to an explosive IUP offense. IUP was 3-for-4 in the red zone, but all three scores were field goals. On the season, Edinboro has a red zone percentage of .688 allowing 22 scores in 32 opportunities the 22nd best mark in the nation. Of those 22 scores eight have been red zone field goals. 
Special Teams
Reed Martin currently ranks third in the PSAC in punting averaging 39.1 yards per punt good for 42nd in the nation. The coverage team has backed up their kicker helping the Scots to the fifth best net punting mark in the PSAC. Their average of 35.5 ranks 44th in Division II.
Getting Defensive
The Scots defense has been paced by leading tackler, 
Saige Ley. Ley currently ranks 11th in the PSAC and 54th in Division II averaging 8.4 tackles per game. 
Tarique Smith currently ranks sixth in the PSAC in sacks recording 0.81 per game after recording a pair of sacks last Saturday against Clarion. 
CJ Waldier ranks 16th in DII and fourth in the PSAC with two fumble recoveries. 
Honor Roll
DeAndre Dowdell became the first Fighting Scot to earn a PSAC Player of the Week honor. Dowdell blocked two punts and made 10 tackles in a 21-17 victory over IUP on Saturday. 
Jack Hollibaugh also earned Edinboro's Scot of the Week honors two weeks ago for his performance including catching the go-ahead touchdown against IUP. 
Hidden Yards
Edinboro is the least penalized teams in the PSAC. They take just 4.22 penalties per game ranking 12th nationally and average just 41.0 penalty yards per contest.
Scouting the Mauraders
Millersville enters the final week of the season 2-8 overall and 1-6 in PSAC East play after a 38-35 loss to Bloomsburg last week. The Mauraders average 14.4 points per game while allowing 30.3. They are being outgained 364.5-212.9 on the year. Four different quarterbacks have played in at least three games with more than 35 attempts. Jared Jenkins leads the way with 640 yards passing and six touchdowns. Jack Stagaard adds 594 yards and five scores. Hakim Melvin is Millersville's top target catching 26 passes for 409 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground Jaheim Morris pces the offense with 264 yards and two scores. Defensively, Rafael Lozada and Isaiah Onuschak each have 86 total tackles. Onuschak has 55 solo stops, 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Steve Sweeney has been a ball hawk in the secondary recording three interceptions and six pass breakups.
