Fighting Scots men's tennis team win third straight; women pick up three wins

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 1 | Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 2 Edinboro, Pa. - The quick turnaround from yesterday proved to be no problem for Edinboro as both teams came out this afternoon with even better performances. The men's team made it their third straight team victory as they defeated Kutztown, 7-0. The victory marked ten straight overall victories over the Golden Bears for the Fighting Scots. The women's team had a much better match this afternoon and were able to pick up two singles victories and a doubles victory as they took on Seton Hill.

The men's team was able to win all nine total matches the team played, with the one through six singles players all winning in straight sets. Takahiro Inoue, Ruben Acuna, Thibault Dorval, Gustavo Martins, Kaio Sacchi, and Kai Chin Chen were all victorious for the Fighting Scots in singles action. The duos of Inoue and Chin Chen, Dorval and Martins, and Sacchi and Jorge Benette were all victorious in singles action on the afternoon.

For the women's team, Kaede Tada was able to get back into the win column with a straight set victory, 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Torye Calleja picked up her first singles victory of the season in come from behind fashion. Despite dropping the first set, Calleja was able to swing the momentum in the second set and finish the match with a victory in the third set. The tandum of Emily Cevera and Lauren Chiacchia also got into the win column for the Fighting Scots with a 6-3 win.

The teams will be in action next on Friday, March 26 as they stay home to welcome Erie County opponent, Penn State Behrend, at 6:00 p.m.
