Box Score (New/Sortable Format) CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team make it back-to-back win Tuesday afternoon against the Cal (Pa.) Vulcans.
The Scots won by a final of 7-0, taking two out of three doubles matches and all six singles matches.
Freshman Kaede Tada (Kashiwa, Japan) won her fifth straight number one singles match, defeating senior Laura Vargas 6-3, 6-1.
Sophomore Torye Calleja (Anthem, Ariz./Boulder Creek) won 6-1, 6-3 over junior Fallon Winseck. The second slot win marks the third straight of the season for Calleja.
Then Calleja and Tada combined to down the Vulcans' number one doubles team of Vargas and freshman Carmen Duran.
Duran fell to freshman Ana Nadai (Vitória, Brazil/AF Americas) 7-5, 7-5 in fourth singles as Nadai added a second straight victory.
The third doubles pairing of sophomore Lauren Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) and freshman Emily Cevera (Ashtabula, Ohio) improved to 4-3 on the season by tallying their third straight win of the year. Their victory over freshman Kylie Feltenberger and junior Julia McDaniel came in third doubles.
Sophomore Anna Zak (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) defeated freshman Feltenberger in the fifth spot in singles, and Cevera bested junior Fulvia Camargo in sixth.
Freshman Marina Zottele (Sao Jose Dos Campos) began a win streak of her own with a 6-1, 6-7-4, 10-6 win. She defeated senior Charlie Gallagher in third slot singles.
