EDINBORO, PA - The No.16 nationally ranked Edinboro Women's Soccer Team (4-0) takes on Clarion University (2-1-0) at Sox Harrison Stadium this weekend. The game is scheduled for Noon, Saturday, Sep. 18.

- Double overtime was needed to secure a 1-0 win against a stubborn Cal (Pa.) on Wednesday after Edinboro saw their highest shot total of the season (24) finally pay off with just four minutes remaining
- Layne Kimple was the eventual game winner after a shot from out-wide found the far corner of the goal
- Anna Voelker and the Edinboro defence saw their third shutout of the season ensure defeat wasn't an option. The Edinboro goalkeeper had three saves to her name
- The game saw Edinboro have to keep their calm after a flurry of fouls and cards in the game. Cal (Pa.) received four cautions with a fifth resulting in a sending off for Ashley Venezia. The fighting Scots only saw one yellow in the game
- Shot leaders for Edinboro were Clare Crossley with five shots, three on goal and Brittnie Spithaler with four shots in total, two on goal

- Clarion are currently 2-1 overall in PSAC play. After beginning the season with a 7-0 loss to Slippery Rock, Clarion have bounced back with two victories against Cal (Pa.) and most recently Pitt-Johnstown
- Two second half goals brought victory for Clarion. The goals were scored by two Freshman, Kylee Cross (#18, FWD) and Alayna Wicker (#17, FWD)
- Assists came from Kylee Cross and Jaci Bowser (#8, FWD)
- The Golden Eagles were outshot by the Mountain Cats, seeing four attempts at goal to the UPJ's 13 with seven finding the target. Clarion's Alexandra Velez (#0, GK) able to make six important saves
- The final goal was scored on the 81-minute mark, showing that Clarion persevered till the very end to ensure an important PSAC victory
