EDINBORO, PA – The Fighting Scots Women will be returning to competition after their opening team victory in the Doug Watts Open. Edinboro travel to Lock Haven to compete in the LHU Invitational, the race will be taking place at the West Branch Cross Country course, Saturday, 11 a.m. Sep 25.
Anna Alberti was the lead runner for the Fighting Scots with a time of 23:05.
Kimberly Goerss was next for Edinboro finishing in 23:18. Making up the top five for Edinboro was Sheilah Cheruiyot with a time of 23:25.
Kate Szep was able to place strongly in sixth finishing in a time of 23:50. Freshman runners
Alexa Trax and
Lauren Jacobs were next in 21
st and 22
nd respectively with Tiffany Berry placing 30
th to make up a top performance from the team to take first place honors overall.
2019 saw the Fighting Scots finish an impressive eighth out of 37 teams at the LHU Invitational.
Kimberly Goerss will be able to build on previous experience at this event where she placed 36
th in a very competitive field.
Edinboro will look to keep their strong start to the season going in what is expected to be another strong field of teams. The 6k race will get underway at 11 a.m.
