Bloomsburg, Pa. -- After spending the entire month of December competing against the PSAC East, Edinboro will conclude the conference crossover by traveling to Bloomsburg on Friday for a 3 p.m. tip off.
Last Time Out
Edinboro enters the game with a (3-6) overall record after their recent 75-73 comeback win over Mansfield. The Scots found themselves in a deep hole late in the second half as they trailed by 17 points with less than eight minutes remaining. Edinboro then proceeded to go to another level with a 22-3 run, which was enough to seal the game with seconds remaining.
The Scots comeback run was established with defense and ultimately allowed them to earn their first conference win of the season. Edinboro didn't let up a single field goal in the final eight minutes of the game, as Mansfield only converted on three free throws. Will Taylor finished with a game-high 21 points, along with seven rebounds and three steals.
As a Team
After four conference games Edinboro currently sits in the seventh spot out west.
On the season Edinboro has averaged 71.7 points per game while shooting 43.9% from the field and 31.0% from three-point land.
The Fighting Scots continue to lead the entire PSAC conference in rebounding margin. Edinboro is averaging 6.4 more rebounds per game than their opponents. Edinboro is also fourth in offensive rebounds at 12.9 per game and fifth in combined team rebounding at 39.7 per game.
Edinboro's physicality also contributes to their game on the offensive end. The Scots average 34.9 points in the paint per game.
Individual Leaders
Kierell Green leads Edinboro in scoring at 13.4 points per game and is shooting 37.8% from deep. Green also averages 7.1 rebounds per game,
Taylor averages 13.0 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field.
Dominique Keyes has averaged 11.8 points and 11.6 rebounds per game and has already recorded five double-doubles on the season.
Bloomsburg
The Huskies of Bloomsburg University are led by head coach Chris Bess. Bloomsburg enters the contest with a (0-8) overall record after their recent 60-52 loss to Slippery Rock.
Bloomsburg has averaged 65.5 points per game while averaging a –16.4 scoring margin. The Huskies are shooting 40.7% from the field and are averaging almost seven three-pointers per game. Jake Nelson leads the Huskies in scoring and rebounding with 12.8 points per game and 9.5 rebounds. Desmond Freeman contributes 11.9 points per game.
