Edinboro, Pa – The Edinboro women's tennis team will host their first home match of the 2022 spring season on Saturday with Westminster College at 3:30 p.m.
Last Time Out
In the team's first match of the season last Saturday, they traveled to North Canton, Ohio for a match against Walsh University. Edinboro was defeated by the Cavaliers, 0-7.
In doubles play the duo Vidisha Pallamreddy and Luciana Ponce were defeated by Alexa Gamborino and Risako Umekuni, 2-6. The team of Rafaella Negrao De Almeida and Marina Zottele fell to Nicole Beidacki and Isabella Sanchez, 2-6. The final doubles match was Edinboro's Anisha Thada and Ana Nadai who were defeated by Shantala Uzcategui and Carla Padberg, 0-6.
In singles play Pallamreddy fell to Umekuni 4-6, 0-6. Ponce was defeated by Uzcategui 3-6, 1-6. De Almedia fell to Gamborino 3-6, 1-6. Thada was defeated by Beidacki 4-6, 1-6. Zottele fell to Padberg 1-6, 5-7. Finally, Nadai was defeated by Chiara Wolff 0-6, 0-6.
Saturday's match will be a great opportunity for the Fighting Scots to grab their first win of the season and gain momentum early.
Westminster Scouting Report
Westminster is a member of the President's Athletic Conference (PAC). The Titans match against Edinboro on Saturday will be their first of the spring season. Westminster went (10-3) overall in the fall season.
Last season the Titans were led by Ryleigh Valone who went (13-0) in singles play and (12-0) in doubles.
