Box Score (New/Sortable Format) Erie, Pa. – In the Edinboro women's tennis home opener the Fighting Scots swept Westminster College 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie Pa. The Fighting Scots grabbed their first win of the spring season as they sit at (1-1) overall.
Singles play was highlighted by Ana Nadai who dominated Ryleigh Valone 6-0, 6-0. The highlight in doubles play came in the first match of the day when Vidisha Pallamreddy and Luciana Ponce took care of Sabrina Slagle and Emma Sukal 6-1.
In the remaining singles matches, Pallamreddy defeated Slagle 6-2, 6-2. Ponce rolled past Sukal 6-1, 6-1. Rafaella Negrao De Almeida was victorious oveer Gia Francisco 6-1, 6-3. Anisha Thada won a close one over Caroline Fox 6-4, 7-5. While Marina Zottele finished singles off with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Sara Small.
In Doubles De Almeida and Zottele got past Francisco and Small 6-3. In the last doubles match, the duo of Thada and Kaitlin Toth 6-2.
Edinboro will look to grab another win next Saturday when they travel to Daemen College.
