Detroit – Edinboro University 141-pounder Gabe Willochell dropped a pair of matches on Thursday to finish his second season 22-10 overall.

In his opening match, Willochell took on 10^th-seeded Jakob Bergland. Bergland scored a first period takedown and then extended the lead with a second period reversal. In the third Bergland scored two takedowns with a Willochell escape in between. The riding time point made the final 9-1 Bergland.

The offense was on full display in the opening period of the consolation match against Clay Carlson of South Dakota State. Carlson struck first with a takedown at 2:17. Willochell scored the escape and then grabbed a 3-2 lead with a takedown of his own.
Carlson took a 4-3 lead with a reversal. Willochell got out with 34 seconds left to level the score at 4-4.

Carlson rode Willochell out in the second. Willochell gave up a penalty point to start the third and then gave up a reversal making the score 7-4. After an escape Willochell shot late but gave up a takedown to set the final at 10-5 with riding time.
