Edinboro, Pa. - The Fighting Scots women earned their first win of the season against Clarion on Wednesday evening. They now turn their attention to Slippery Rock University as they look to build on their previous performance and climb up the PSAC West standings. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

- Boro improved to 1-4-2 on the season picking up an important PSAC win that saw them move up the standings ahead of Slippery Rock and Clarion.
- Edinboro secured their first win thanks to an Avery Grischow game-winner. This was Grischow's first collegiate goal for Edinboro in seven games played with six starts.
- A second shutout of the season proved important to ensure the result for Edinboro. Kaylee Lauriel had three saves in the game, dealing well with the long-range efforts that came her way. This takes Lauriel to 28 saves on the season having played every minute so far this season.
- Edinboro didn't have a corner kick in the game but proved to be dangerous from long throw-in opportunities from Sarah Tomko and Lexi Boyk. Tomko was awarded her first assist as her throw-in lead to the finish by Grischow.
- The Fighting Scots will be looking to overcome a tough opponent in Slippery Rock who won both meetings last season. Edinboro's last win in this fixture came in 2019, where overtime was needed seeing Edinboro snatch a 2-1 result.
Slippery Rock University
- The Rock holds a record of 1-2-5 overall and 0-2-4 in PSAC West play.
- Their single win of the season came in their opening fixture of the season against West Virginia Wesleyan College. Slippery Rock took a 2-1 result thanks to a penalty kick from Ashley Rea and a late game-winner from Jaime Dermotta.
- Slippery Rock has proved to be a difficult team to beat with five ties so far this season. Three goaless draws have come against Fairmont State, Seton Hill, and Cal. U, as well as a 2-2 tie with Indiana and a 1-1 result with Mercyhurst.
- Most recently Slippery Rock fell to Pitt-Johnstown in a 2-1 loss on Saturday. All the goals were scored in the first half of the game with Morgan Sarver on target for the Rock. Slippery Rock will feel unlucky to have lost the game having had 23 attempts at goal with 11 on target.
