Men’s Basketball Continues Conference Play at California

California, Pa. -- The Edinboro men's basketball team will play their second opponent out of the PSAC West conference in California University of Pennsylvania. The Fighting Scots will battle the Vulcans Wednesday night inside the Convocation Center at 7:30 p.m.

Last Time Out
Edinboro enters the game with a (4-8) overall record and (2-5) in the PSAC conference. Last Saturday the Scots hosted their final game against the PSAC East in Shippensburg University.

The Scots fell to Shippensburg 79-70 in a game where Edinboro never led in the second half. In the final two minutes the Scots had trimmed the Raider's lead to just five points. That is as close as Edinboro would get as Shippensburg eventually iced the game with free throws. Naim Miller led Edinboro with 20 points to go along with four rebounds.

As a Team
With a current (2-5) record in the PSAC conference, Edinboro sits in the seventh spot out of the West.

On the season Edinboro has averaged 69.5 points per game while shooting 42.4% from the field and 29.3% from three-point land.

Edinboro has found a strong identity on the defensive end, which has converted into easy offense. The Scots average 7.1 steals and 3.4 blocked shots per game. Their strong defensive capabilities are attributed to their 11.4 points per game off turnovers.

Edinboro's physicality contributes to their game on the offensive end. The Scots currently average 33.0 points in the paint per game.

Individual Leaders
Miller is Edinboro's leading scorer at 14.3 points per game and is shooting 34.2% from deep. Miller has reached double figures in Edinboro's last eight games.

Kierell Green averages 12.7 points per game for the Scots to go along with 6.7 rebounds per game.

Dominique Keyes has averaged 11.9 points and 11.0 rebounds per game and has already recorded six double-doubles this season.

Cal U
The Vulcans of California University of Pennsylvania enter the contest with a (5-8) overall record and (2-5) in the conference after their recent 96-71 loss to Slippery Rock. Cal currently shares the same conference record as Edinboro and is one spot ahead of the Scots in the PSAC West rankings.

California has averaged 82.1 points per game while averaging a +1.9 scoring margin. The Vulcans are shooting 48.4% from the field and are averaging almost nine three-pointers per game.

Keith Palek III leads the Vulcans in scoring at 18.4 points per game and averages 6.8 rebounds per game. Jermaine Hall Jr. is averaging 17.2 points per game while shooting 52.7% from the field.

Up Next
After Wednesday's game, Edinboro will host Seton Hill University on Saturday, Jan 14. The game will begin at 3:00 pm after the Women's game.
