New Orleans – The Edinboro women's cross country team was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team with five runners earning All-Academic Athlete honors.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
The Fighting Scots posted a team GPA of 3.5 and were the 2022 NCAA Atlantic Regional runner-up.
To be named an All-Academic Athlete, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
Kylie Anicic,
Kimberly Goerss,
Olivia Roberts,
Kate Szep and
Alexa Trax were all named All-Academic Athletes.
Anicic, a nursing major, was the NCAA Atlantic Region Individual Champion. Goerss also a nursing major was an All-Region performer finishing second at the Regional Championships.
The third Edinboro nursing major to earn All-Academic honors,
Kate Szep, was an All-Region finisher as well posting a 14
th place finish. Roberts, an Exercise Science major, was the fifth scoring time for the Scots, who finished as Regional runners up, crossing the line in 37
th. Trax, an Early Childhood Education major, posted a 67
th place finish at the Regional in November.
