Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro men's basketball team will return home to battle PSAC-West opponent Mercyhurst on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse. It is the second and final matchup of the season as the Scots will seek vengeance upon the Lakers.
Last Time Out
Edinboro enters the Week with a (5-14) overall record and (3-11) in the PSAC conference. On Saturday Edinboro battled Gannon on the road during the first matchup of the season for the two PSAC West teams.
Early in the game a strong 12-2 Edinboro run put the Scots ahead of the Golden Knights 17-15 in the first half. The lead was eventually captured by Gannon, and they never looked back in the second half. In the 81-71 final Naim Miller led Edinboro with a game-high 25 points.
Nineteen Games In
With a current (3-11) record in the PSAC conference, Edinboro sits in the seventh spot out of the West and is three games behind California.
On the season Edinboro has averaged 68.7 points per game while shooting 41.3% from the field and 30.3% from three-point land.
In Edinboro's last six games they have accounted for nearly half of their three-pointers on the season. The Scots have hit 45 three-pointers at an efficient 32% compared to the previous season's average of 29%.

Mercyhurst
The Lakers of Mercyhurst enter the contest with a (15-3) overall record and (11-3) in the conference after their recent 82-71 win over Seton Hill. Mercyhurst is ranked twentieth in the national poll and second in the PSAC West standings only behind the nation's top ranked IUP.
Mercyhurst defeated Edinboro 80-48 in their first matchup back on January 4th. The Lakers controlled the game from the three-point line by shooting 53% on 14 made shots. Miller paced the Scots with 16 points.
Jeff Planutis leads the Lakers with 15.0 points per game and is shooting 45% on three-pointers. Michael Bradley is averaging 13.6 points per game while shooting 48% from the field.
