Indiana, Pa. -- The Edinboro football team is slated for a 2 p.m. kickoff against IUP at George P. Miller Stadium on Saturday.
Last Time Out
The Fighting Scots dropped to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC West after falling 23-12 to Gannon on Saturday afternoon at McConnell Family Stadium.
Edinboro trailed 17-0 in the fourth quarter and used the passing game to close the gap in the final frame. The Scots used a 12-play, 79-yard drive capped by a
Brian Trobel one-yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 17-6. On the next Edinboro drive, Issac Bernard found
Mike Watkins for a 22-yard touchdown pass capping another 12-play drive this time for 84 yards. Bernard finished the game 18-of-26 for 171 yards and a touchdown. Watkins caught eight passes for 93 yards.
CJ Waldier made 16 total tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.

Honor Roll
Through six weeks of play the Scots have earned three PSAC West Athlete of the Week honors.
Toby Cline was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week in Week 5. Cline intercepted a pair of Mercyhurst passes while also breaking up a pass in the end zone and recording five tackles in the win.
Reed Martin is the other Scot to earn PSAC West honors this season earning Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors for his performances against Bloomsburg and Cal.
Special Teams
On the season Martin is averaging 42.8 yards per punt which ranks 14th in Division II.
The Scot coverage team has held opponents to just 1.25 yards per return ranking second in the PSAC and 14th in the nation. The Scots net punting is a PSAC-best 40.7 yards per punt ranking fifth in the country.
Making Stops
CJ Waldier has been the Scots leading tackler and recorded 16 stops against Gannon. He currently ranks second in the PSAC and 16th nationally in solo tackles per game at 5.3. He is averaging 9.7 total tackles per game ranking third in the PSAC and 11th in the nation.
Rushing Atttack
Brian Trobel rushed for another touchdown against Gannon. He now has seven rushing touchdowns ranking second in the PSAC just one behind the conference leader. Trobel ranks fifth in the PSAC in scoring with 42 points.
Trobel has a pair of 100-yard rushing games this season and currently ranks fifth in the PSAC averaging 76.2 yards per game.
Forcing Turnovers
The Fighting Scot defense has forced 11 turnovers including a pair of takeaways against the Golden Knights on Saturday. They rank fourth in the conference in takeaways. The Scots rank third in the conference in fumble recoveries with six.
CJ Waldier leads the team with two.
Road Warriors
The Scots are 7-7 under Coach
Jake Nulph on the road. Edinboro is 1-2 on the road in 2023.
Edinboro has been efficient on fourth down converting on 6-of-10 attempts this season. They rank second in the PSAC.

The Scots rank fourth in the conference in first downs with 113.
In the Standings
This is a key PSAC West matchup as the Scots and Crimson Hawks are level at 1-2 in conference play and in a tie for fourth in the conference. There are three teams at the top of the standings at 3-0.
Scouting the Crimson Hawks
The Crimson Hawks are now 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC West after a 30-20 loss to California (PA). A trio of IUP quarterbacks finished the game 10-of-26 fro 140 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions. Cyair Clark caught four passes for 80 yards. Hilton Ridley and Cole Laney each recorded a touchdown pass. Dayjure Stewart was the leading rusher at 12 carries for 53 yards. Drew Dinunzio-Biss led the defense with 17 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack. Tyrone Fowler Jr made 11 stops, 3.0 for a loss and 1.5 sacks.
Stewart is leading the team in rushing with 292 yards. Quinn Zinobile has caught 27 pass for 423 yards and four touchdowns. Hilton Ridley also has four touchdown catches. DiNunzio-Biss leads the team with 50 stops including 5.5 for loss and three sacks.
