Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro men's basketball team is back in action on Wednesday night against PSAC-West rival Gannon University. The Scots will match up against the Golden Knights inside McComb Fieldhouse at 7:30 p.m.
Last Time Out
Edinboro enters the Week with a (5-20) overall record and (3-17) in the PSAC conference. On Saturday Edinboro battled Pitt-Johnstown on the road during the final matchup of the season for the two PSAC West teams.
In the first half, a 7-0 run from Edinboro would give them an 18-17 lead after a jumper by Naim Miller. The Mountain Cats responded with their own 8-0 run to regain the lead.
Pitt-Johnstown let their 26 points off turnovers fuel their offense in the second half. The Mountain Cats started off the final half with a 14-6 run to increase their lead to twenty points. Edinboro fell to Pitt-Johnstown 66-90, as Dominique Keyes led the Scots with a game-high 24 points and 14 rebounds.
Twenty-Five Games In
With a current (3-17) record in the PSAC conference, Edinboro sits in the seventh spot out of the West and is ahead of Gannon and Clarion.
On the season Edinboro has averaged 69.5 points per game while shooting 41.6% from the field and 31.2% from three-point land.
The Scots have connected on at least five three-pointers or more in their last ten games.
Edinboro continues to lock down the paint with 3.64 blocks per contest, which is ranked fourth in the conference.
The Scots are second in the conference for combined team rebounds with 38.5 per game. Edinboro is also twenty-eighth in the nation with 12.6 offensive rebounds per game.
Team Leaders
Miller is Edinboro's leading scorer at 16.1 points per game and is shooting 32.9% from three-point range. Miller has reached double figures in Edinboro's last 21 games.
Kierell Green averages 14.2 points per game for the Scots to go along with 8.7 rebounds per game. Green is one of four players in the PSAC to average at least 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
Keyes averages 11.7 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. In their last game against UPJ, Keyes exploded for his thirteenth double-double of the season with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Keyes is fourth in the nation for rebounds per game.
Gannon
The Knights enter the contest with a (3-21) overall record and (3-17) in the conference after their recent 57-72 loss to Seton Hill. Gannon is ranked eighth in the PSAC West standings behind Edinboro as the two teams share the same conference record.
Gannon defeated Edinboro 81-71 in their first matchup back on January 28th. Edinboro would lead 17-15 early after a strong 12-2 run from the Scots offense. Edinboro's foul trouble would allow Gannon to regain the lead at the half.
The Scot's foul troubles would continue as Gannon attempted seventeen free throws in the second half. Miller finished with a game-high 25 points for Edinboro. Demetrius Mims and Josh Omojafo each finished with 20 points for Gannon.
Gannon is second in the PSAC for opponent free throw percentage (76.2%) and fifth in the conference for opponent field goal percentage (41.8%).
Demetrius Mims leads Gannon in scoring at 16.3 points per game along with a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game. Zach Kent adds in 12.8 points per game along with 5.6 rebounds per game.
