Erie, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's tennis team will begin PSAC play this weekend at the Westwood Racquet Club. The Scots will host Shepherd on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, Edinboro will host nonconference opponent Fairmont State at 4 p.m.

Spring Break Trip
The last time the Edinboro women were in action was during their spring break trip two weeks ago. The Scots competed in four matches in over five days as they went head-to-head with some of the best competition in the nation.

Edinboro went against two teams from South Carolina in Francis Marion University and Limestone University. The Scots fell to Francis Marion 1-6 and Limestone 0-7.

The Scots played their other two matches in North Carolina against Division I Queens University of Charlotte and nationally ranked Belmont Abbey College. Edinboro fell to both teams 0-7.

Edinboro
The Edinboro women enter PSAC play with a (2-7) nonconference record. The Scots sit in fifth place in the PSAC West standings as they closely trail Seton Hill.

In nine matches played Ana Nadai and Maria Clara Salomao are tied with three singles wins on the season. In doubles, Nadai and Sandra Riecken lead the Scots with their (4-5) record.

Shepherd
The Rams of Shepherd University are led by head coach Evan Dokken and sit in fifth place of the PSAC East conference standings with a (2-6) non-conference record. In their last match, the Rams fell to Bowie State 1-6.

Last season was the first time ever that the Fighting Scots and Rams went head-to-head in women's tennis. It was Edinboro who earned the 6-0 win back on March 26, 2022.

The two teams have both competed against one team so far this season in Frostburg State University. Against Frostburg, Edinboro fell 3-4, as Shepherd was also defeated by Frostburg 1-6.

Fairmont State
The Fighting Falcons of Fairmont State University are led by head coach Terry Deremer and are (6-2) overall. In their last match, the Falcons defeated Mercyhurst University 5-2.

Edinboro is (1-4) all time against Fairmont State. In their last head-to-head match, the Scots fell to the Falcons 1-4.
