Edinboro, Pa. – Edinboro track & field and cross country standout Danny Desmond was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team on Thursday afternoon.
 
Desmond posted a 4.0 GPA while majoring in Advanced Studies in Education.
 
"Danny is one of the many men that stayed around for a 5^th or 6^th year to finish out their eligibility after the Covid year," said Track & Field Head Coach and Director of Cross Country Anne Cleary. "As a coach I'm so grateful for these guys and what they gave to make our program great. I'm so happy to see that Danny is being recognized for the great work he has done in the classroom, as well as the track and course."
Desmond was a first-team All-PSAC performer in cross country finishing in 15^th at the PSAC Championships. He was a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete. He was a key contributor to the Fighting Scots winning five straight PSAC Cross Country Championships.
 
He was also an All-PSAC performer in outdoor track & field finishing third in the 10K at the PSAC Championships.
