Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's soccer team returns to Sox Harrison Stadium Wednesday evening when they host Gannon at 6 p.m. in the PSAC West opener for both teams.
Last Time Out
The Fighting Scots dropped a 1-0 decision to Malone Saturday despite generating 14 total shots and 10 shots on goal.
Emily Vogel led Edinboro with three total shots and two on goal. The Scots also tallied a 2-2 tie of Notre Dame last week with Vogel scoring a pair of goals.
Offensive Output
The Fighting Scots have generated 25 shots with 18 on goal over the first two games of the season. Edinboro peppered Malone with 14 shots.
Emily Vogel has led the offense with two goals, six shots and five shots on target.
Morgan Wissner has one helper for the Scots.
PSAC West Play
With the beginning of conference play, the Scots and Golden Knights will meet for the first of two matchups this season. The Golden Knights were selected first in the Preseason Coaches' Poll while the Fighting Scots were selected seventh.
The Series
The Scots have been on the wrong end of the last 10 meetings with the Golden Knights. Gannon is 8-0-2 against Edinboro in the last 10 matchups. The games have been hard-fought and tight with five one goal games in addition to the two ties.
In Net
Kaylee Lauriel has started both games in net for the Fighting Scots this season after starting 18 games a season ago. She has posted a 1.50 goals against average and a .667 save percentage.
Scouting Gannon
The Golden Knights are 0-1-1 after tying Concord 2-2 and falling to Charleston 4-1 in their last time out on Saturday. Brooklyn Respecki leads the Gannon offense with three points on one goal and one assist. Ella Fadale and Hannah Shepherd each have a goal for the Golden Knights. Morgan Sinan has started both games in net for Gannon allowing three goals while making six saves.
