Men’s Basketball Closes Out First West Rotation with Three Games in Five Days

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team will play three games in five days to close out the first time through the PSAC West schedule.
 
The Games
The Scots play host to Seton Hill at 3 p.m. on Saturday and then welcome Slippery Rock to McComb on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. On Wednesday, the Scots travel to California, Pa. for a 7:30 p.m. tip against the Vulcans.
 
Last Time Out
Edinboro is now 5-12 overall and 4-7 in conference play after winning two of their last three. The Scots fell last Saturday at IUP by a final score of 72-60. Bernie Blunt led the Scots with 16 points while also pulling in four rebounds. Jack Gallagher added 11 points, five boards and two assists. Madior Seye led the Scots with seven rebounds including three on the offensive glass.
 
By the Numbers
The Scots are averaging 74.1 points per game while opponents are scoring 80.9 points per contest. Edinboro holds a +1.5 margin on the glass. The Scots have a -1.6 turnover margin and a 0.8 assist to turnover ratio.
 
Statistical Leaders
Blunt is the Scots leading scorer scoring 20.9 points per game, the second-best mark in the PSAC, to go with 4.5 rebound and 2.3 assists per outing. Daunte Wilcott is the Scots leading rebounder with 6.1 per contest and ranks second on the team in scoring at 10.1 points per game. JJ Eubank adds 9.3 points per game and is shooting 38.7 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Scouting the Griffins
Seton Hill is currently 10-7 overall and 5-6 in the PSAC West after dropping an 81-73 decision to IUP on Wednesday. Kendrick Curtis led the Griffins in scoring with 17 points off the bench while also grabbing nine rebounds. Ryan Meis chipped in 13 points while Drew Green scored 11.
 
Seton Hill averages 73.6 points per game while allowing 72.8. Meis is the leading scorer with 15.2 points per game. Green adds 9.7 per contest. Gabe Gillespie is the Griffins leading rebounder averaging 5.9 boards per game to go with 9.5 points per contest.
 
Scouting the Rock
Slippery Rock is 8-9 overall and 6-5 in PSAC play after scoring a 64-54 victory over Clarion Wednesday night. Ike Herster led the Rock with 21 points including shooting 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. Maceo Austin tallied 19 points and six boards while Lashon Lindsey posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Slippery Rock averages 77.6 points per game while allowing 75.5. They are +3.5 on the glass and -1.7 in turnover margin. Maceo is the leading scorer for the Rock at 18.3 points per game. Herster adds 14.4 per outing while Jomo Goings adds 11.9. The Rock play at IUP on Saturday.
 
Scouting the Vulcans
The Vulcans are currently No. 8 in the country with a record of 15-2 overall and 9-2 in PSAC play. Cal topped UPJ 95-74 on Wednesday. They travel to Mercyhurst on Saturday and then to IUP on Monday before hosting Edinboro on Wednesday.
 
Cal averages 87.3 points per game while holding opponents to 74.5. The Vulcans hold a +2.9 advantage on the glass and nearly even in turnover margin. KJ McClurg is the PSAC's leading scorer at 23.2 points per game. Zyan Collins adds 15.2 per contest while Jermaine Hall Jr. chips in 13.4 per game. Bryson Lucas and Donald Whitehead Jr. also average double-figures with 11.7 and 10.2 points per game respectively.
