Men’s Basketball Hosts Gannon and Pitt-Johnstown in PSAC Play

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team will take on Gannon and UPJ inside McComb Fieldhouse this week inside McComb Fieldhouse.
 
The Games
The Scots host Gannon Wednesday night with tipoff slated for 5:30 p.m. Edinboro welcomes Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday at 3 p.m.
 
Last Time Out
Edinboro is coming off an 89-77 victory over Clarion on Saturday. The Scots used a balanced attack with five different players reaching double-figure scoring against the Golden Eagles. Jack Gallagher paced the Scot attack with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists. JJ Eubank scored 17 with four assists and three boards. Madior Seye tallied 16 points while Ryan Ladjevich and Bernie Blunt scored 11 and 10 respectively.

Josh Omojafo scored 30 points on 9-of-16 shooting and going 12-of-15 from the free throw line. Lyle Tipton added 16 points. Mike Montano and Nathan Schneider each scored double figures off the bench with 12 and 11 respectively.
 
The Golden Knights boast one of the nations most potent offenses averaging 110.6 points per game. Opponents are scoring 86.8 points per contest. Gannon is forcing 25.5 turnovers per game and hold an +11.5 turnover margin. They are also a +4.2 in rebounding margin. Omojafo is the leading scorer at 21.6 points per game and is shooting 56.5 percent from the field. Zachary Hobbs adds 13.4 points and Tipton adds 11.8 points per game.
 
Scouting the Mountain Cats
Pitt-Johnstown is 5-8 overall and 3-4 in PSAC play after falling 64-57 to Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon. Ryan Smith led the Mountain Cats with 13 points as well as three steals and two assists. Andrew Shull tallies 12 points and two boards. UPJ travels to Clarion on Wednesday.
 
The Mountain Cats are averaging 75.8 points per game while allowing 79.2 points per contest. UPJ has a -4.5 rebounding margin and a -0.4 turnover margin. Smith leads the team with 12.3 points per game to go with 4.4 rebounds. Shull chips in 12.1 points per contest and Andy Zuchelli is averaging 11.5 points per game.
