Colton Camacho finished the Midlands Championships with a 3-3 record to place sixth at 133 pounds leading sixth wrestlers at the tournament hosted in Evanston on Sunday and Monday.

Camacho opened the tournament with a fall over Mason Kernan on West Virginia. In the quarterfinals, Camacho lost a 7-3 decision to Ohio State's Ben Davino. In his first consolation match, Camacho earned a 10-8 decision over Angelo Rini of Indiana. With a trip to the placement round on the line, Camacho found himself down 5-4 with seconds left in the third. Camacho reversed Kurt Phipps of Bucknell and tilted him for two nearfall points to score and 8-5 decision. In the consolation semis, Camacho dropped a 6-2 decision to Ryan Miller of Penn and in the fifth-place match fell 10-5 to Sean Spidle of Central Michigan.

Chris Vargo dropped his opener to Dedrick Navarro of Northwestern 22-6. He opened the consolation round with a 5-1 decision over JB Dragovich of Geroge Mason. Vargo advanced with an 11-2 major decision over George Mason's Ben Monn. In the fifth round of the consolation bracket, Vargo drew Rutgers Ayden Smith. Vargo advanced with an 8-3 decision over the Scarlet Knight. Vargo's tournament came to a close with a 6-3 loss to Diego Sotelo of Harvard.

Ryan Burgos started his tournament with a 9-6 sudden victory decision over Lucan O'Brien of Northern Illinois. In his second match, Burgos fell 5-2 to Michigan's Dylan Gilcher. In his first consolation match, Burgos dropped a medical forfeit to August Hibler of Northwestern.

Ryan Michaels lost by injury default to Logan Rozynski of Lehigh and then gave up a medical forfeit to Conner Harer of Rutgers.

Jared McGill picked up bonus points in his first match of the tournament scoring a 20-4 tech fall over Luke Rada of Harvard. In his second match he suffered an injury and dropped a medical forfeit to Reec Heller of Pittsburgh. McGill gave up a medical forfeit to Cory Thomas of Michigan State.

Kade Sottolano started off the Midlands with a 12-4 major decision over Dzhabrail Khurshidov of Michigan. In the second match, Sottolano fell 2-0 to Nick Pavlechko of Indiana. Max Vanadia of Michigan State topped Sottolano 4-0 in the Scots first consolation match.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they host the Bobby Kauffman Open inside McComb Fieldhouse.
