Softball Hits the Road for Pair of PSAC West Doubleheaders

Greensburg, Pa. – The Edinboro softball team will be on the road for two PSAC West doubleheaders this week.
 
The Games
Edinboro has shifted their doubleheader with Seton Hill originally scheduled for Saturday to Thursday. First pitch is slated for 2:30 p.m. The Scots then travel to IUP on Friday for a twin bill with scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
 
Last Time Out
The Scots dropped a pair of games to Clarion on Sunday. Edinboro scored four runs in the seventh, but the comeback bid came up short losing 6-5 in the opener. Then dropped a 10-9 decision in nine innings in the night cap.
 
The Scots hit three home runs in second contest with Adeline Maguire hitting a pair and Lucy Higley hit a three-run shot in the seventh inning. Maguire and Higley each drove home three runs in the second contest.
 
At the Plate
Maura Pasquale is the Scots leading hitter with a .304 average. She has scored seven runs and driving in four runs. Lauren Bush adds a .258 average with four RBI and two runs. Maguire and Higley lead the team with two home runs each.
 
In the Circle
Macy Sral is 2-5 in the circle with a 5.31 ERA with four complete games. She has struck out 19 while walking 11. Bush has 11 strikeouts in 17.0 innings pitched. Jordan Lauer adds 1-2 record with two starts and four relief appearances.
 
Scouting the Griffins
Seton Hill is 15-7 overall and 3-1 in PSAC West play after sweeping a doubleheader against Pitt-Johnstown on Tuesday.
 
Morgan Toal is leading the Griffins with a .484 average with 15 doubles and 21 RBI. Kassidy Wittig added a .459 average. Nina Grandey leads Seton Hill with 30 runs scored while batting .447 to go with 17 RBI. Lauren Dellett has a 7-4 record in the circle in 11 starts striking out 76 strikeouts and 21 walks. Logan Hartman has also made 11 starts posting a 4.27 ERA and 31 strikeouts.
 
Scouting the Crimson Hawks
IUP is 15-8 overall and after falling 7-4 to Cal before game two was halted with the Vulcans leading 8-5 in the top of the fifth. The Crimson Hawks play host to Mercyhurst on Thursday.
 
Paige Truax is the leading hitter for IUP batting .406 with 12 runs scored and 11 RBI. Jordan Sylvia is slugging 1.154 with a .383 batting average and a team-high 15 RBI.
