Taylor Cudequest Announced as Head Track & Field Coach

Edinboro, Pa. – Edinboro Athletics announced Taylor Cudequest as the Head Track & Field Coach.

Cudequest comes to Edinboro after serving as the assistant track & field coach at Sacred Heart. At Sacred Heart, he coached the multi, high jump and pole vault helping three Pioneers to NEC Championships. The Sacred Heart indoor men's high jump record fell during his time with the Pioneers.

"I'm very excited to add Taylor to our staff. He's a very well-versed coach that can coach just about any event," said Director of Track & Field Jamison Dietrich. "He will be able to coach all of the sprints, jumps, hurdles, and some throwing events. His experience as a decathlete will be invaluable as we build up the track and field team. Taylor has a very engaging personality that makes it easy to connect with him. He's a proven recruiter who's excited to build up our rosters. Coach Cudequest is a great fit for our team."

Prior to Sacred Heart, Cudequest served as an assistant coach at Cerritos College. In his four-years at Cerritos he operated track meets and planned team events. Coached Bryce Pearson to All-American position in the Decathlon and helped Pearson to a second-place finish at the 2022 USA U20 Decathlon.

As an athlete, Cudequest qualified for the New Balance Indoor and Outdoor National Championships, where he placed third in the country and earned All-American honors. In 2021, he qualified for the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships and was 11th overall in the heptathlon.

Cudequest is taking over for interim head coach Mike Palmer who stepped in to coach the Scots in the 2024 spring semester.

"I'd like to thank Coach Palmer for all the work he did for our track program this year," said Dietrich. "He provided a large boost to our program when we needed it most. Our athletes will miss having his presence at practice next year. Our track team certainly would not have had the same results without Coach Palmer this year."
