Buffalo, N.Y. – The Edinboro women's tennis team scored a 5-2 victory over host Daemen Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
Cecilia Carayol and Sophia Benito scored a 6-4 victory over Frida Rubio and Bella Bjerkan in number one doubles. The number two team of
Rafaella de Almeida and
Maria Clara Salomao fell 6-0 to Carly Armitage and Stephanie Baier.
Lara Sener and
Luciana Ponce secured the doubles point for the Scots with a 6-2 win over Yinett Del Leon and Zoe Gietmann.
Carayol dropped the first set of the top singles match 4-6, but rallied to win the second 6-1 and take the tiebreaker 10-4 topping Del Leon. Ponce claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Armitage at the number two spot.
Benito topped Bjerkan in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 at number three. Sener was also a singles winner at number four with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Baier.
The Scots are back in action on Wednesday when they take on Bethune-Cookman on their annual spring break trip.
