Stanislas Noel was the PSAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year and
Travis Myler was named Coach of the Year highlighting the release of the PSAC Men's Tennis All-Conference teams by the conference office Friday afternoon.
Noel was dominant in PSAC action this season going 5-0 in singles action. He finished the regular season with a 15-match winning streak playing mostly number one singles. He was a five-time PSAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week. He rallied from a set down in the Scots Regional Final match against Fairmont State to lift Edinboro to another NCAA Championship appearance. With his Player of the Year selection, Noel earned First-Team All-PSAC honors.
Joining Noel on the first team singles list, was
Mathis Amsellem and
Thomas Buchard. Amsellem was 4-0 in conference play at number two singles. Noel and Amsellem also teamed up to earn first-team doubles honors going 7-2 overall and 5-0 in PSAC play.
Buchard finished the year 15-7 in singles play at the number three position in the Edinboro lineup. He finished the year winning 10 matches in a row including a perfect 5-0 in PSAC play. He also went 2-0 at the NCAA Regional last weekend.
Fabircio Sosa Pons was named to the PSAC Second Team finishing the year at 8-7 overall. He was 2-0 in PSAC play and scored a key victory for the Scots in their regional final victory over Fairmont State on Saturday.
Myler earned his second selection as the PSAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year running his career record to 30-13 as the head coach of the Scots. Despite losing his top two singles players from a year ago, Myler was able to lead Edinboro to its fifth straight PSAC Championship, his second, and their second trip to the NCAA Championships under his watch.
The Scots will take on UT-Tyler Tuesday at noon in the Opening Round of the NCAA Championships in Alamonte Springs, Fla.
