Edinboro, Pa. –The Edinboro men's basketball team is set for a pair of PSAC West contests this week.
The Games
The Scots play host to Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. the game will be
broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network as well as
live stats being available. Edinboro hits the road on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest with California (Pa.). The game will be
broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network and Cal Athletics will provide
live stats.
Last Time Out
Edinboro is 8-6 overall and 4-3 in PSAC play after scoring a 99-54 non-conference victory over Penn State Fayette on Saturday. Six Fighting Scots scored in double figures led by 18 from
Mekhi Reynolds. He also added nine assists, seven rebounds and a block.
Rowan Carmichael added 15 points all from beyond the arc.
Bryce Baez and
Dakari Bradford each also tallied 15 points.
Evan Berger and
Jonathan Anderson each finished with 10 points.
Protecting the Basketball
The Fighting Scots lead the PSAC and ranks 15
th nationally with a 1.49 assist to turnover ratio. Edinboro has done that by turning the ball over 10.1 times per game leading the PSAC and ranking ninth in the country in turnovers. Reynolds leads the PSAC and is 16
th in DII with a 2.84 assist to turnover ratio.
Beyond the Arc
Edinboro ranks second in the PSAC in 3-pointers per game at 10.1.
Rowan Carmichael leads the nation in 3-pointers per outing at 4.21. Carmichael ranks second in DII in total 3-pointers with 59. He is fourth in the country in 3-point field goal percentage at 49.2 percent.
Pitt-Johnstown
The Mountain Cats are 9-7 overall and 3-5 in PSAC West play after falling 82-68 to Slippery Rock on Saturday. Baden Forup tallied a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds as well as seven assists. Will Kromka tallied 15 points while Adam Blinsky and Jay Rose each scored 14 points. Forup leads UPJ in scoring averaging 17.2 points per game to go with 10.2 boards pe outing. Rose adds 16.6 points per contest.
California (Pa.)
The Vulcans are 11-4 overall and 8-0 in PSAC play after a 99-88 victory over No. 9 Gannon on Saturday. Antoine Arnett leads Cal in scoring averaging 17.4 points per game. Jordyn Buchanan adds 16.7 points per contest. Bryson Lucas scores 16.1 points per game while pulling down a team-high 8.9 rebounds per contest. Cal travels to Clarion on Wednesday.
