Charleston, W.Va. – The Edinboro softball team begins the 2026 season on Friday and Saturday playing four games split between Charleston and Concord.
The Games
On Friday, the Scots take on host Charleston at 10 a.m. and then play Concord at 3 p.m. Edinboro plays the same schedule, Charleston at 10 a.m. and Concord at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Returning Production
Edinboro brings back a lot of production from a year ago with the full lineup of field players back led by
Adeline Maguire who hit .355 with eight triples, seven doubles and five home runs. She scored 27 runs and drove in 21.
Cassidy Weller hit .309 last season with six doubles. She scored 16 runs and drove in 14.
Isabella Becker also reached the .300-mark hitting exactly .300 with eight doubles.
In the Circle
The Scots also return experience in the circle with
Giana Ficcaglia and
Grace Kessel returning with a combined 31 starts from a year ago. Ficcaglia pitched 90.2 innings recording 85 strikeouts to 33 walks. Kessel threw 59.0 innings with 54 strikeouts.
Preseason Poll
The Scots were selected eighth in the PSAC preseason coaches' poll.
