Madeline Newark was named a PSAC Winter Top 10 recipient Wednesday afternoon announced by the conference office.
The PSAC Top 10 was initiated in the 1998-99 academic year and is awarded to those men and women student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and athletic competition.
Newark is a 4.0 student majoring in Mathematics while also competing at an extremely high level in track and field.Â
Newark is a two-time PSAC Champion in the pentathlon and won the PSAC Championship in the heptathlon last spring. She has earned All-PSAC honors six times and has 17 Top-8 finishes at PSAC Championships. She is a two-time PSAC Champion Scholar.
She holds the Pentathlon record at Edinboro and previously held the high jump record in her career. Her school record in the Pentathlon is the second best mark in PSAC history.
