ERIE, PA. – The Edinboro men's tennis team looked impressive as they defeated PSAC foe Millersville 7-2 Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie. Edinboro, ranked sixth in the Atlantic Region, improves to 14-6 and 2-2 in the PSAC, while Millersville drops to 3-11 and 1-3 respectively.
Edinboro had double wins recorded by
Amir Talab,
Kody Duncan, and
James Cooper.
Talab defeated Tucker Mertz 6-2, 6-0 in singles play, and downed Mertz and Dillon Ryan with teammate
Kody Duncan in doubles by a score of 8-6. Duncan added a victory over Ryan 6-3, 6-3 in singles play to get him his second victory of the day.
Cooper worked with
Kevin Caldwell to defeat Keven Tran and Tony Jadus in doubles, 8-3. He doubled up Jadus 6-1, 6-1 in singles play as well.
Colin Bandell (6-1, 6-1), and
Brandon Romain (6-2, 6-3) also collected victories for the Fighting Scots.
Edinboro wraps up their regular season tomorrow with a final match against West Chester, who carries an 8-8 overall record into play and stands a perfect 4-0 in the PSAC.
