MEADVILLE, Pa – Edinboro Men's Tennis team took third place in the Nancy J. Heath Invitational, splitting their two matches. In the third place match, the Fighting Scots defeated Grove City College 7-2.

Edinboro dropped the first match of the day, losing 9-0 to Carnegie Mellon. The closest match for the Scots was in the number three doubles match, in which James Cooper and Thomas Pellegrino lost only 8-5.

Against Grove City College, Edinboro won two of the three doubles matches, and the top five single matches. Freshman Bruno Borja picked up his first career victory playing in the top singles spot, winning 6-4, 6-0. The only Fighting Scot to sweep their match was Amir Talab, as the junior from Miami, Fl. won in the number three singles position.

Next weekend, Edinboro travels to Bloomsburg, Pa. for the PSAC Championships. The Fighting Scots will hope to build off the victory against Grove City College with a strong showing at the conference championship.
