ERIE, Pa. (March 1, 2014) - The Edinboro men's tennis team lost 6-3 to Kutztown in its first PSAC match of the year on Saturday evening. The match occurred at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pa. The Golden Bears won four of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches. The loss drops the Fighting Scots record to 3-4 overall while Kutztown evens up its record at 1-1.
Matias Aignasse lost his first singles match of the year to fall to 3-1. The Argentinian junior lost to Rushi Amin 4-6, 7-6 (7-1), 10-4.
Bruno Borja won his third straight singles match. The freshman from Brazil beat Matthew Maguire 6-0, 6-2.
Kody Duncan was the only other Fighting Scot to win a singles match. The junior defeated Patricio Hernandez 6-4, 6-3.
On the doubles side, Edinboro's lone win came from the combo of Borja and Duncan who defeated Ben Nace and Rich Lichtenwalner 9-8 (7-1).
The Fighting Scots will be back on the court tomorrow against Bloomsburg. The match will begin at noon at the same location as today's event.
