MURFREESBORO, NC (March 23, 2014) – The Fighting Scot men's tennis team rounded out its spring break trip with a close 5-4 defeat to host Chowan on Sunday morning by a score of 5-4 in Murfreesboro, NC. Edinboro falls to 8-7 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 11-5.
 
The match featured a pair of regionally-ranked squads, as the Fighting Scots came into the contest ranked fourth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Rankings, with the Hawks ranking fifth.
 
Edinboro triumphed in four of six singles matches, as Bruno Borja, Juan Estepa, Amir Talab and Brandon Romain all collected victories in singles competition.
 
The difference in the match came in doubles play, with the Hawks picking up wins in all three doubles duals.
 
The Fighting Scots return to action on March 26, hosting Westminster College at the Westwood Racquet Club. The matchup with the Titans is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
