CHARLESTON, WV (May 4, 2014) – Trailing 3-0 after doubles play, the Edinboro men's tennis team rallied to win five straight singles matches to earn a 5-3 victory over Kutztown and capture the 2014 NCAA Atlantic Region 2 title on Sunday afternoon at the Schoenbaum Tennis Courts in Charleston, WV. The contest was a rematch of the PSAC Championship Final on April 18, which the Fighting Scots won by an identical score of 5-3.
Edinboro now moves on to the NCAA Round of 16, facing off with South Region 2 champion West Florida on May 14 at 1:30 p.m. in Altamonte Springs, Fla. The Argonauts are the top-ranked team in Division II, owning a 25-0 record. The Fighting Scots extended their match win streak to 11 contests with the win, while improving their record to 19-8 on the season. The Golden Bears close the 2014 campaign with a 15-6 mark.
