HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (March 11, 2016) - Edinboro's Vitor Albanese tacked on another singles win to his total against George Mason Friday to improve to 18-2 on the year, but it would be the NCAA Division I Patriots who took the 5-2 victory over the Fighting Scots at Van Der Meer Center. The match marked the end of Edinboro's four-match spring break trip in Hilton Head Island, where they posted a 2-2 record and are now 10-2 on the season. The Patriots improved to 4-7.

The contest was played under NCAA Division I rules, in which winning the majority of the doubles matches counts as one team point, as opposed to one team point per doubles win under Division II rules. George Mason took two of three doubles matches and posted four singles victories. Albanese defeated Aaron Capitel, 7-6 (4) and 6-1, while Mateus Santos accounted for the Boro's second singles win, edging Tanner Baine, 6-4 and 7-5. Mateus Santos is now 12-4 on the year in singles matches. The tandem of Kevin Mboko and Mauricio Santos ran their winning streak to three matches with a 6-4 doubles win over Capital and Giuliano Buzoianu to improve to 8-1.

Edinboro returns home to host PSAC opponent Kutztown on Saturday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m.
