ELKINS, W. Va. (March 26, 2016) – The Edinboro University men's tennis team continued it's brilliant 2015-16 campaign with a 9-0 shutout victory against Davis & Elkins. With the win, the fourth in a row for the Fighting Scots, Edinboro improved to 14-2 for the season. Davis & Elkins dropped to 5-8, dropping its fourth match in the past five outings.
The Fighting Scots are currently ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Poll.
Vitor Albanese recorded his team-high 22
nd win of the season, defeating Davis & Elkin's Vincent Hamon (6-2, 6-3) to improve to 22-2. Albanese, who is ranked second in the Atlantic Region, also teamed up with fellow Fighting Scot
Camilo Moncayo to defeat the Davis & Elkin's pairing of Jack Clifton and Vincent Hamon by a score of 8-6
The lone singles competition to go into a third set was a contest between
Mateus Santos and Pierre Baudier. Santos prevailed in three sets by scores of 7-6(6), 1-6, and 10-5.
Edinboro will return to the court on Friday, March 1, hosting West Virginia Wesleyan for a 5 p.m. match.
