WEST CHESTER, Pa. (April 10, 2016) – The Edinboro University men's tennis team remained flawless in the PSAC on Sunday afternoon, picking up their eight consecutive victory, and second straight shutout win, with a 9-0 decision at West Chester. The Fighting Scots improved to 18-2 on the year while staying perfect in the PSAC at 4-0. West Chester dropped to 4-11 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC while losing their fourth straight contest.
Vitor Albanese opened singles competition with a win over West Chester's Charlie Rushing, his 26
th of the season, to improve to 26-2 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC.
The duo of Albanese and
Camilo Moncayo won their 15
th doubles match of the year, defeating the Golden Ram's team of Charlie Rushing and Lucas von der Heyede, to improve to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC.
Daniel Fernandez and
Mateus Santos also stayed perfect in PSAC singles competition, winning their matchups to improve to 4-0. Fernandez and Santos went on to take down the West Chester duo of Lars Kristiansen and Troy Donato to stay a perfect 4-0 in the conference while winning their team-leading 18
th doubles match of the season to improve to 18-6.
The Fighting Scots will return to the court on Tuesday, April 12, at local rival Mercyhurst.
