ERIE, Pa. (April 2, 2016) – The Edinboro University men's tennis team continued it's brilliant 2015-16 campaign with a hard-fought 6-3 victory against third ranked West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats were ranked third in the Atlantic Region in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Poll. The Fighting Scots have won sixth consecutive matches and are 16-2 overall. West Virginia Wesleyan suffered just its third loss of the season and just the second in the past twelve contests to put them at 14-3.
The Fighting Scots are currently ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II Poll.
Vitor Albanese recorded his team-high 24
th win of the season, defeating West Virginia Wesleyan's eighth-ranked Nathan Sabate by identical set scores of 6-4 to improve to 24-2. Albanese, who is ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region, also teamed up with fellow Fighting Scot
Camilo Moncayo to defeat the Bobcat's pairing of Nathan Sabate and Ferran Berga, 8-3.
Camilo Moncayo took down 18
th-ranked Jacobo Rendon while fellow Fighting Scot
Mauricio Santos scored a victory over another ranked opponent, Ramon Rodriguez, who is ranked 14
th in the Atlantic Region.
Edinboro will return to the court on Friday, April 8, traveling to Millersville for a 2 p.m. match.
