Jake Sisson threw for three touchdowns, but Edinboro got a first-hand look why Indiana(Pa.) is ranked ninth in the latest AFCA Division II Top 25 and was picked to win the PSAC West. The Fighting Scots fell to IUP, 56-28, in the PSAC West opener for both teams at Sox Harrison Stadium. Edinboro is now 3-1 overall, while the Crimson Hawks improved to 3-0.
Sisson continued his hot play, as the junior quarterback completed 23 of 37 passes for 281 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He has now thrown 14 TD passes the last three games and 16 for the season.

IUP would score on its first four possessions and grabbed a 35-0 lead at the half. The Crimson hawks opened the scoring on their first possession, marching 82 yards on eight plays, with Lenny Williams, Jr. scoring on a one-yard run with 9:38 remaining in the first quarter.
The Fighting Scots would pick up one first down on their next series before being forced to punt.
Austin Reese's punt was blocked by Diamond Jones, with Chris Wuestner recovering it and taking the ball the final 12 yards for a touchdown. IUP led 14-0 with 8:17 to play.
The crimson Hawks would tack on three more scores in the second quarter. Williams scored his second touchdown on a four-yard run to culminate a 10-play, 99-yard drive after a Reese punt had pinned IUP at their own one yard line.
IUP scored on an 86-yard drive on their next possession, with Samir Bullock covering the final 57 yards on a touchdown run with 10:38 left to play in the half.
With just over two minutes to play, Edinboro tried a trick play on 4th-and-4 at their own 22. Lined up to punt,
Zuril Hendricks took the ball on a fake but was thrown for a two-yard loss. IUP would benefit from the short field and a pair of pass interference calls. Drew Harris bulled in from a yard out with seven seconds left in the half for a 35-0 lead.
IUP took the second half kickoff and drove 86 yards in 12 plays to boost the deficit to 42-0. Bullock did the honors for the second time on a seven-yard run.
Edinboro would match IUP's score later in the period, driving 80 yards in just five plays. Sisson combined with
Jordan Williams on a 40-yard touchdown strike with 3:37 remaining in the third quarter.
For the second week in a row, the Fighting Scots found themselves in a wild fourth quarter. This time, the two teams combined for 35 points.
Edinboro opened the fourth-quarter scoring on a three-yard pass from Sisson to
Nick Helmick on a fourth-and-goal play. The six-play drive covered 80 yards and featured a 38-yard hookup between Sisson and Williams, and a 40-yard pass play to freshman
Ta'Nauz Gregory.
IUP answered with a pair of scores. Edinboro attempted an onside kick but it was recovered by the Crimson Hawks. On the first play from scrimmage, backup quarterback Mike Pietropola combined with Walt Pegues on a 43-yard TD pass, with Pegues taking the ball away from an Edinboro defender.
The Crimson Hawks built the lead to 56-14 after JR Stevens stepped in front of a Sisson pass and returned it to the Edinboro 15. It took six plays, but IUP would score on a one-yard run by Harris with 10:28 to play.
Edinboro would score twice the rest of the way. Gregory's 86-yard kickoff return gave the Scots a first-and-goal at the IUP 10. Three plays later, freshman
Brandon Rios scored his first career touchdown on a one –yard run with 9:25 to play.

Sisson threw his third touchdown of the day with 1:45 to play as the he capped a seven-p-lay, 80-yard mark with a 33-yard strike to Gregory. Gregory made a finger-tip catch at the 11, ducked a defender and sprinted into the end zone.
IUP ended the day with 585 yards compared to 366 for Edinboro. Most of Edinboro's yards came through the air with 281 yards, while IUP had 335 yards rushing and 250 yards through the air.
Not only did Sisson throw for 281 yards, he was also Edinboro's leading rusher with 34 yards on nine carries. Rios added 24 yards on five rushes. Williams enjoyed a career-best day, as the senior wide receiver caught 8 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown.
James Clark 6 receptions for added 44 yards, and Gregory caught 3 passes for 79 yards, adding 114 yards in kickoff returns and five yards rushing for 198 all-purpose yards.
IUP's Williams, the 2015 PSAC West Freshman of the Year, completed 12 of 14 passes for 207 yards and had 69 yards rushing on 12 carries with 2 TDs. Bullock rushed for a game-high 153 yards and 2 TDs on 18 carries, while Harris had 66 yards on 20 carries with two more scores. Pegues caught 7 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown, and ended the day with 206 all-purpose yards.
Edinboro returns to action on Saturday, October at Clarion in a 2 p.m. kickoff.
