Edinboro Ranked Sixth in D2SIDA Atlantic Region Poll

EDINBORO, Pa. – Fresh off an 88-86 win over nationally-ranked Shippensburg, the Edinboro men's basketball team is ranked sixth in the latest D2SIDA Atlantic Region Men's Basketball Poll released today. The Fighting Scots had not previously been ranked.

Edinboro is off to a 3-0 start under fifth-year head coach Pat Cleary, including winning back-to-back PSAC crossover games this past weekend. The Fighting scots opened the 2017-18 season with an 86-77 win over Thiel, then opened PSAC action with an 85-74 victory over Millersville this past Saturday.

The Fighting Scots capped the opening weekend of conference action with an 88-86 win over a Shippensburg team that came in ranked eighth in the NABC Division II Top 25 and ninth in the D2SIDA national poll.

Wheeling Jesuit is the top-ranked team in the Atlantic Region. The Cardinals are off to a 4-0 start. Virginia State and West Liberty are tied for second, with Fairmont State fourth. Shippensburg dropped from first to fifth, with Edinboro sixth.

In fact, the last six teams are from the PSAC, with East Stroudsburg seventh, West Chester eighth, Indiana(Pa.) ninth, and Kutztown rounding out the top ten.

Edinboro returns to action on Saturday, November 25, hosting Lake Erie at 3 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.
