WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Edinboro University men's tennis team scored an 8-1 victory over Daemen on Sunday afternoon to improve to 4-1 on the year. The Fighting Scots were victorious in all singles competition and took two of three in doubles action.
Edinboro won all six singles matches in straight sets, with
Vitor Albanese starting the day off with a victory over Daemen's Gonzalez Villegas, 6-1, 6-2, to improve to team leading 16-3. Albanese later teamed up with
Mateus Santos to defeat Fabian Wilde and Mark Veitengruber, 8-5. The two were playing their first match of the season together as a doubles team.
Mauricio Santos notched his 12
th win of the season to improve to 12-3 with a victory over Ruiz Martinez.
The Fighting Scots return to the courts on Friday, March 3, at 2 p.m. hosting Roberts Wesleyan.
