ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro Univeristy men's tennis team notched its second straight shutout victory, blanking Millersville, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon to open PSAC competition. With the win, the Fighting Scots improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Millersville dropped their fourth straight contest to open the season to sit at 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC.
All six singles matches were won in straight sets, with four coming with identical 6-0 scores in each set.
Vitor Albanese picked up his team-leading 18
th victory of the season with a straight set victory over Millersvile Christian Akerley by identical 6-0 scores.
Mauricio Santos improved to 14-3 with his victory over Millersville's Noah Ginder.
Alex Anderson remained a perfect 4-0 on the year with his victory over the Marauders' Adam Kopitsky.
Thomas McCoy drew his record to an even .500 at 3-3 with a victory over Jordan Shultz by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.
The Fighting Scots conclude a stretch of three games in three days tomorrow morning, hosting West Chester in a PSAC match. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
