Mike Beck Named to 2017-18 NABC Honors Court

18223KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the 2017-18 NABC Honors Court, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season. Among those named to the NABC Honors Court is Edinboro's Mike Beck.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

 
Beck is from Erie and recently graduated with his bachelor's degree in Health & Physical
Education/Teaching Certification. A 6'4" swingman, he graduated with a GPA of 3.72.
 
On the court, he started all 29 games for Edinboro as a senior, helping the Fighting Scots to one
of their finest seasons in several years. Edinboro finished with an 18-11 record, reaching the
semifinals of the PSAC Tournament. Known for his strong defense, he averaged 6.3 ppg. and
made 41-of-109 3-pointers.    
 
Beck played in 106 career games and started 81 games his final three seasons. He concluded his
career with 530 career points and 233 career rebounds.
