The All-Time Series

Edinboro leads 6-4
While the Fighting Scots hold the lead in the all-time series, Bloomsburg has won four of the last five meetings. The two have not played since 2013, when the 15th-ranked Huskies handed Edinboro a 47-35 defeat at Sox Harrison Stadium.

The Last Meeting
2013 -- Bloomsburg 47, Edinboro 35
Edinboro committed five turnovers, leading to four touchdowns and 27 points, as 15th-ranked Bloomsburg won at Sox Harrison Stadium in the 2013 home opener.  The game featured 1,040 yards in total offense with two conference records. Bloomsburg would finish with 526 yards in total offense, most of that coming on the ground.  The Huskies finished with 383 yards rushing, the third-highest total ever allowed by an Edinboro team.  In the process, Bloomsburg's Franklyn Quiteh broke the PSAC's career rushing record, as he burned the Fighting Scots for 231 yards on 31 carries with three touchdowns.  He boosted his career rushing total to 5,741 yards. Edinboro wasn't far behind, totaling 514 yards while having the ball for under 23 minutes.  The Fighting Scots gained the majority of their yards through the air, as Cody Harris enjoyed an outstanding individual effort.  The senior quarterback completed 25 of 32 passes for 360 yards with four touchdowns, adding 95 yards on 18 rushes with another touchdown.  The 455 yards in total offense ranked third all-time in a game at the time.  Marcus Johnson was Harris' favorite target, doing most of his damage in the second half to finish with nine catches for 185 yards, tied for the eighth-most yards receiving in a game at that time. Bloomsburg jumped out to a 31-14 lead at the half as the Fighting Scots turned the ball over four times. Edinboro closed to 34-28 after three quarters as Harris scored on a one-yard run and tossed a 35-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Williams.  Unfortunately, the fifth and final turnover of the game, a fumble at midfield, spelled doom for the Scots. Bloomsburg would follow with a pair of scores to boost the lead back to 47-28. Harris threw his third touchdown of the day, a six-yard hookup with Ben Eisel with three minutes remaining, to close out the scoring.

The Coaches
Wayne Bradford (Salisbury St. '90) was named Edinboro's 15th head coach on March 29, 2017 and led Edinboro to a 7-4 record in his first season. After serving as interim head coach in 2017, that tag was removed after less than a week after the conclusion of the season. Bradford has worked under four different head coaches and was an assistant at Edinboro for 18 years before taking over as the interim head coach. He has spent a majority of his time as the Fighting Scots' defensive coordinator. Bradford has master-minded some brilliant defensive performances over the years in a day and age when offense has taken over. For instance, in 2011 the Fighting Scots ranked eighth in Division II in scoring defense (17.0 ppg.), 11th in pass efficiency defense, and 18th in total defense (292.6 ypg.). Edinboro gave up fewer than 20 points in seven of its 11 games. A year ago, his Edinboro defense finished first in the PSAC and fourth in Division II in tackles for losses, and second in the PSAC and sixth in the country in sacks. Edinboro finished the 2016 campaign with a 9-2 record, marking the fifth time an Edinboro team with Bradford on the staff tied the school record for victories (9). Three of Edinboro's teams during his tenure have reached the NCAA playoffs, including the 2009 team, which finished at 9-4 and reached the Super Region One semifinals. All told, he has been a part of 116 wins.

Paul Darragh (Temple '85) was named head coach of Bloomsburg on December 6, 2013 after being appointed interim head coach in February, 2013. Overall, he is in his 22nd season with the Huskies in 2018 and his sixth as head coach. He has a 41-17 record as the head coach of the Huskies, including a 7-4 record a year ago.
The Huskies went 7-4 and 4-3 in the PSAC East in 2017. With Darragh on the Huskies' staff, dating back to his first season as defensive coordinator in 1997, Bloomsburg has compiled an overall record of 175-57. The first two seasons of the Darragh Era will go down as two of the strongest in Huskies history. Darragh posted a 21-4 overall record, back-to-back PSAC East titles, two NCAA Playoff berths, and a PSAC Championship (2013) while being named PSAC East Coach of the Year in both 2013 and 2014.  Following the 2014 season, he was honored as the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Super Region One Coach of the Year. Darragh served as the Huskies' defensive coordinator for 16 years. He has also served as an assistant coach at Gannon and Indiana(Pa.).

Last Week
Edinboro 69, Lake Erie 0
Eight different players scored as Edinboro went on the road and defeated Lake Erie in the season opener for the second straight year. The Fighting Scots totally dominated the contest, finishing with 551 total yards compared to 104 for the Storm. Lake Erie threatened to score just once, at the end of the first half, but the defense forced a fumble at the two yard-line. That was one of six turnovers forced by the Edinboro defense, along with seven sacks. The defense even accounted for a score, as DeAndre Dowdell scored on a fumble return following a sack. Andrew Tomko made his second career start and accounted for four touchdowns. The redshirt sophomore threw for three scores and ran for another while throwing for a career-high 301 yards. Tomko hooked up twice with Ta'Nauz Gregory on scores of 60 and 57 yards. Gregory would catch 3 passes for 131 yards. Walter Fletcher also scored twice on runs of 13 and 2 yards, as he finished with 102 yards on 23 carries. That was his 11th 100-yard game. A pair of players scored their first career touchdowns, with Kyle Carrington catching an 8-yard scoring pass from Jarrod Kellar, and Kyle Simms scoring on a 2-yard run.

Bloomsburg 30, Merrimack 16
Hakeem Sillman rushed for 142 yards on 17 carries and quarterback Erik Benjamin accounted for three touchdowns in his first collegiate start in the first meeting ever between Bloomsburg and Merrimack. Sillman finished with 264 all-purpose yards, while backup tailback Qmac Quiteh added 92 yards rushing on 13 carries. Bloomsburg finished with 258 yards rushing on 41 carries. The Huskies' defense, meanwhile, limited Merrimack to 112 yards on the ground and 349 total yards. Benjamin completed 9-of-20 passes for 145 yards a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. He scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards.
