MATCH STORYLINES
  • Edinboro looks to maintain its hold of first place in the PSAC West. The Fighting Scots are 6-0-1 in conference action, good for 19 points. Slippery Rock is second with 18 points, with Seton Hill and Mercyhurst tied for third with 12 points.
  • The Fighting Scots have had to go a bit extra in recent matches. Their last three contests have all gone into overtime, including last Saturday's match vs. Pitt-Johnstown. Edinboro would prevail 1-0 on Marissa Shields' goal in the second overtime session.
  • Edinboro is 6-0-1 in its last seven contests. That's the best non-losing streak since the 2014 squad won seven straight matches. They look to match the 2013 team which was 7-0-1 during an eight-match stretch.
  • The Fighting Scots were picked to finished sixth in the PSAC West in the PSAC coaches' preseason poll. At 6-2-1 overall, they have already matched last year's win total, when they finished at 6-11-0.
  • Seton Hill comes in with a 4-5-0 record overall, and is 4-3-0 in league play under first-year head coach Zak Kruger. The Griffins were picked to finish third in the preseason poll.
  • Nine different players have scored goals for Edinboro, with Brittnie Spithaler leading the way with 4 goals. She is the team's leading scorer, adding 5 assists for 13 points. Danielle Chatten adds 2 goals and 5 assists. Spithaler and Chatten are tied for first in the PSAC in assists, with Spithaler ranking sixth in scoring. Chatten has moved into 12th place in career scoring with 53 points, along with ranking tied for 11th in career goals (19) and tied for sixth in career assists (15). Rebecca Manns has 2 goals and 2 assists, and is now tied for 13th in career assists with 13. Sophomore Anna Voelker has been in goal for every minute and has a 1.27 GAA with 2 shutouts. She is eighth in the PSAC in goals against average.
  • Seton Hill is led by Katie Kimmich, who ranks third in the PSAC in scoring with 6 goals and 3 assists for 15 points. Italia Biondi, an All-PSAC and All-Atlantic region selection a year ago, is right behind with 5 goals and 4 assists for 14 points. The Fighting Scots have qualified for the PSAC Playoffs 11 times, with seven of those in the last nine years. Entering the season, Kagiavas ranked 24th among active Division II coaches in victories. In addition, he ranks second in wins among PSAC women's soccer coaches, exceeded only by West Chester's Betsy Anne Kempf-Townsley with 332 wins.  He has been selected the PSAC Coach of the Year three times (2001, '05, '07).
  • Edinboro won the first six meetings in the all-time series with Seton Hill, but the Griffins have won the last two meetings, including last year's 2-0 win.
