Parsons Reaches Finals of Mile Run at NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Edinboro University sophomore Stefanie Parsons reached the finals of the one-mile run at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Friday afternoon. Pittsburg State University is hosting the championships.

Competing in the one-mile run for the second straight year, the native of Acton, Ontario posted a time of 4:50.72 to finish fifth in the prelims. The top nine runners advance to Saturday's finals, which will take place at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday. She is assured of All-American status after finishing 15^th in the one-mile run as a true freshman.

Chloe Cook of Colorado School of Mines crossed the finish line first with a time of 4:48.95, followed by Allie Ludge of Grand Valley State at 4:49.03. Roisin Flanagan of Adams State was third at 4:50.01, and Hillsdale's Allysen Eads was fourth (4:50.34).

Parsons posted her qualifying time at the GVSU Big Meet, recording a top time of 4:48.51, good for fifth in the country heading into Nationals.
