Edinboro Shuts Out Roberts Wesleyan 7-0

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis had an early wakeup call on Tuesday while playing for the third time in four days. The Fighting Scots turned in a strong performance in a match that started before noon, handing Roberts Wesleyan a 7-0 defeat at the Westwood Racquet Club. The Fighting Scots have now won two matches in a row to improve to 3-1 on the season. Roberts Wesleyan is now 1-3.

Edinboro swept all three doubles matches to gain the point in doubles play and take a 1-0 lead into singles action.

The Fighting Scots would proceed to claim all six singles matches, again winning every one in straight sets. Nils Plutat improved to 12-2 with a 6-1, 7-5 win at number one singles. With Tommy Hsu out of the lineup, Kaio Sacchi, Ruben Acuna, and Billy Chang all moved up a spot in singles play and won. Takahiro Inoue, in his first time in the lineup, won 6-3, 6-1 at number five singles. Jorge Benette wrapped up the win with a victory at number six singles.

Edinboro returns to action on Sunday, February 16 at Niagara.
